Hi: I currently have a MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz and picked up a MacBook Pro 2.33 without a top case. Everything looks good except, I can't verify by turning it on to see if it's functional or not.

I looked online and found that the part number for 2.4 Ghz topcase is 922-8036 while the topcase for the 2.33 is 922-7909. If I install the 2.4 topcase on the 2.33 MacBook, can I turn the 2.33 on with it? or are the (2) topcases that much different than the other one that I have to purchase a new topcase for the 2.33 just to see if it's functional?

Where can I pick up a new topcase and keyboard at a decent price?

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
Quan

I'm not 100% sure this will work (because I haven't actually tried it)...but you could try connecting an external monitor to the MacBook without a display.

The monitor looks brand new... The topcase is the case where the keyboard and the power button reside. I can't even turn on the laptop without the topcase.

You're going to need an exact replacement top case. Check on eBay, Craig's list, and anywhere that used Mac parts are sold.

Regards.
