Hello guys I just joined this forum.
I'm currently deciding whether to buy macbook before the ipod touch deal ends or not. My concern is that my friend told me apple might release new macbooks soon. Is this true? If not, I would love to go ahead and buy one before the deal ends. If apple is releasing new macbooks I would want to wait for the new one to come one.
Thanks

That's all conjecture and hearsay. I would consult this page before making any purchases. Check periodically.

Based on previous release dates, I'd say it's unlikely to see any new releases before October

Plus, there will ALWAYS be a new MBP model just around the corner. I've only had mine for a year and there have already been TWO new models released. No matter when you buy your MBP, it will only be current for a few months. If you need it now, get it now and get something free thrown in.

It's kind of like waiting to buy a new car because you want the very latest model, but in a year from now there will be another new model anyway.

I just did this. I got the mid '09 macbook and the ipod touch. Don't wait. There's no point. You're just depriving yourself of happiness.

Of course, I upgraded from a 2001 iBook, so the difference in performance from the iBook to my new Macbook is HUGE, while the difference in performance between my current Macbook and the next rev is likely to be minimal at best. This negates any need for me to have held out. Your case may be different.

I'm not a Mac. I'm not a PC. I'm a person.

They're still shipping the current MacBook/MacBook Pro lineup in bulk, so they will probably hold off on announcing new models until January. There are reports of the iPod lineup running in short supply across the country, so new iPods are definitely on the horizon. I guess we'll find out for sure next week on that one.
