Hello,

I have been having problems with overheating power adapters for a couple months now (the original one burned out in June, two third-partys off eBay have burned since). The latest one, a new Apple 65W, is heating up as well and I'm guessing it might be due to a faulty connection at the DC-in port, since I have to twist the plug around before it gives me a proper charge indicator (green/orange). What can I do to fix this?

Edit: my comp is an Early 2004 iBook G4 12", the battery was replaced during the 2006 recall.

you can take it to an apple store?

There's a faint possibility that cleaning the socket would work, but I doubt it.

Waiting for the game that takes full advantage of a 124bit, 3.5GHz, 8-core, 64Gig-RAM system.

Oops, forgot to specify, my bad. I did take it to an Apple repair store two weeks ago (inLife, Stockholm) and they didn't find anything wrong with it.

they plugged it in and din't need to twist it round?
Or has it got worse since?

I took the iBook in after the third power adapter burned. The comp stayed in the shop ten days before anyone looked at it, and when I picked it up they said they hadn't found anything wrong. The charger color issue hasn't gotten worse, it's been like that for awhile, I was just wondering if perhaps it was related to the fact that the chargers keep overheating (i.e. faulty charging).

I'm going to call the store tomorrow to tell them I have problems with my new charger.
QUOTE Thanks
