Hey all,

I was on the Apple website and found that I could get $100 off if I was purchasing the product as a student? I am entering my freshmen year in college this september and was wondering if I had to order the product online in order to get this discount. Or could I just go to my nearest Apple store and just show them my College ID card to get the same discount.

thanks for all the help!
-Pat

Also check with your university book store. Sometimes you can get a better discount through them although they may not be stocked with the latest machines.

Regards.

Yep, I bought one in store with education discount and got the free iPod 2 years ago. (the wife works at a uni for inquisitive minds)

Hey you could be a young guy just 2 years out of school...or an older guy who went back to school, and graduated 2 years ago!

Or you could be an older guy just taking classes.

And then you should qualify for the student discount...without having to tell the wife what you're buying!

Wait a minute! Earlier you posted that your wife works for the university...so doesn't that mean that she has to purchase the computer equipment in order to qualify for the education discount...or do you order online using her university ID info?

It's not really that important (not trying to be nosey)

Just that some universities seem to be more strict about the education discount..and may require the buyer to place the order in person to check university ID photo & the persons actual identity to avoid any fraudulent activity (not saying you're doing anything fraudulent).
