MacBook - Restore disks

I have a friend that just bought a 13" Macbook unibody (not the new macbook pro), its used and didnt come with restore cd's and is missing some apps, like iphoto. Question is will my restore cd's for my mac work on his? or do you have to buy all of the software again? I have a late 2007 white macbook, and i could get my hands on any of the restore cd's for the unibody models from my friends from their macs, would those possibly work?

The gray restore discs are tied to the specific machine.
