I'll be a sophomore in college in a few weeks so I have a pretty good idea of what I use the laptop for in terms of school stuff. I'm big on iPhoto, iTunes and watching TV/DVDs but don't really do a ton of video editing. I wanted to know, though, if there are any major differences between the 2.53 and 2.66ghz 15" Macbooks for web development and coding.

I use Coda and Adobe CS3 (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Indesign) very heavily. As a Visual Communications minor, I'll be continuing to use this stuff a lot as well as continuing with my personal projects. I usually have the dev/design stuff running with at least iTunes and Firefox, and have been in plenty of situations were I have Entourage and Word open at the same time (I'm more of a multi-tasker... oh well). I've done all of this on a 2.4 ghz MBP for awhile so I feel like I'd probably be fine with the 2.53 ghz processor, but would having the 2.66 ghz one do anything special?

Also, regardless of which 15" MBP processor I get, I'm planning on getting the 320GB 7200 rpm harddrive and keeping the memory at 4GB for now.

The 130mhz difference is so small, it likely won't be noticeable.
The extra graphics chip in the 2.66 won't make any difference for your needs, either.
What will show a noticeable change in performance is RAM and HD speed.

Save some cash and get the 2.53 model.

That's what I figured. It's great to hear it from somebody else. Thanks for the help again!
