Hi, not sure if this should go in the hardware or software section, so I'm just gonna post this here.

I've been trying unsuccessfully to burn a DVD +R DL Verbatim disc on my 15'' Macbook Pro. The computer recognizes it and everything, and the system information says that DVD +R DL is supported.

I have tried numerous burning programs and looked at countless tutorials, but what always ends up happening is that the burning process jumps right from "preparing to burn" to "finishing burn", and gets stuck there. I left it on for 2 hrs before turning it off.

Following advice form another forum, I then tried the same process on Windows via Bootcamp, and got an error that says: "failed to set LO zone capacity". Google told me that this means I need better firmware for my burner, but I already have the latest version.

At this point I'm not even sure if its possible to burn dual layer dvds on a Macbook Pro. Please help - what am I doing wrong and is there a way to fix it?

It almost sounds like dual layer burning is not supported by your optical drive, but if you say it is....

What software are you using when attempting to burn a DL disk? Also, be aware that dual layer burning is very finicky, even on a Windows PC using sophisticated software like Ashampoo or Nero. You might also want to try another brand of DL DVD + R media.

Regards.
