On my iBook I have lent and other little fabrics in between my keys, but I'm scared to take the keys off to get the stuff out.

I've tried using the air blower things for keyboards, but it's not making it coming out, does anyone have a solution on how to get little things out of your ibook keyboard?

an idea off the top of my head is to get a balloon, rub it all over your head to create static electricity and then put it close to your kb and see if it'll attract the lint. then again, static electricity and computers don't mix.

Compressed air that can be purchased just about anywhere and it seems to work for me the best. But if you are still having trouble, you still could remove the keys from the iBook. Just remove them from left to right or in reverse. But sometimes the keys are a little hard to put back on, but most of the time no. Just be observant as to how the hinges were put together, before you remove them.

Haha, Macman, nice idea, but I think i'll skip your advice on this one.

iWhat, I did purchase the compressed air, thats what I was talking about in my post, but it's not pushing it out.

If Windows users thought we were different now, wait until they see us rubbing balloons against our heads.

Oh, I missed that, for some reason I interpreted that as hair dyer for some odd reason. Well, the balloon trick or popping the keys off might be your last chance, I guess. Just remember to be carefull removing keys, don't do it too forcefully. I messed up one of my keys on my iBook; one of the hinges went a little out of wack, and key doesn't go down straight anymore. But all the other keys I removed, went back on to my iBook perfectly.

Have you try to use a little brush, like the ones used to clean lenses?

Vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment works for me but I like the balloon idea the best.

I personally have no qualms about taking my keyboard. As long as you don't bend it or use a lot of force with it or break the cable that's connecting it. It shouldn't hurt to lift it out, though.

That could be a potentially dreadful solution seeing as the KB is on a metal frame with the Airport card/RAM right underneath.

Just lift up the keyboard - it's really easy to do and putting it back is simple too!

Then get your compressed air and blow down between the keys...

Clean up the dust etc and replace the keyboard.

Just follow the instructions in your manual for lifting up the keyboard.

I just use some thin paper to carefully guide stuff like hair out between the keys. The rest, I just use my lungs.
