I got my powerbook in fall of '03 and its worked great but two things seem to be going down hill.

1. My battery it seems my laptop is burning the battery up really quick. For instance I'll charge it 100% take the cord it with in a couple minutes its dropped the 88%....

It hasn't always been this way, actually at one time I couldn't believe how great the battery was i'd last me so long I would actually be wondering why it still had so much of a charge.

Alright second and most important the charger cord that plugs into my laptop the rubber part right below the plugin (part that plugins into computer) is almost completely ripped...

I dont have any extended warrenty or anything just whatever the basics... So I got in Fall '03.

Would Apple send me replacements for those two for free? If not how much would they cost? Is it possible to even get them!?! And is that Laptop battery avaliable at a cheaper 3rd party site like the Ipod battery?

Apple will not send the replacements for free to you but you can buy batteries and AC adapters from apple.com

You can also buy the items from http://www.powerbookmedic.com/Powerb...p-1-c-250.html

You can also search Ebay. Someone's PB may have broke and all they have are the funny pieces of ribbon tape to sell you. Stupid I know, but ebay is always a resource for that!
