G'day Bob and welcome to the forums.

If you are keen you can try and rebuild the battery. Here is a guide:-

Make: Online : Replace Powerbook G3 Battery Cells

Otherwise off to eBay and such looking at auction sites:-

Battery for Apple MAC PowerBook G3 Lombard Pismo M7318 - eBay (item 120445000630 end time Aug-05-09 08:33:28 PDT)

Try buying a computer from this century.

In all seriousness, try cleaning the head of the power adapter and socket with rubbing alchie.
