MacBook Pro - 13" 2.26 HDD Upgrade.?

hey guys whats up and thanks for welcoming Me to the Forum. ok i just got me a Mid 09 MacBook Pro 13" 2.26Ghz with a 4Gb Ram and 250Gb HDD. i dont know why i just didnt just get the 500gb from the Start.. but anyway i was looking around and with so manny programs and Downloads i have im running out of space.. i will like to upgrade to a 500gb HDD soon. i've seen on apple.com that the 500 hdd they use is the 5400rpm drive.. now ive seen the 500gb 7200rpm for a good price..So i just asking can my laptop hold the heat and the speed of the 500gb 7200rpm.

this is the one i will like to get..>
500GB 2.5" Seagate Momentus 7200.4 7200RPM... (ST9500420AS) at OWC

or go with the more desent one..>
500GB 2.5" Seagate Momentus 5400.6 5400RPM... (ST9500325AS) at OWC

i know its cheaper in newegg but did u see the customer reviews and comments.. its just like witch one should i go with..

hmm i thought everything is built in the mac? you can change the internal hard disk?i thought the only thing you could change was the ram. (:

Nope - see my guide on how to upgrade a MBP 13" [in sig].

However, you may have heard about the MB Air. It isnt user upgradeable. Although there are guides on YT on how to do it.

i've seen the video like 30 times but my question is should i go with a 500gb 5400Rpm or should i go with a 500gb 7200Rpm

I use a 7200RPM on my white MB and although the HD does run a little warmer, it is nothing to be concerned about. My advice would be to get the 7200RPM and if you have problems, you can always fall back to your original HD.

ok i order the 7200rpm hdd 500gb.. lets see how it is.. just need to know how do i boot up to copy back up from external drive..

Sorry! Yes go for the 7200rpm drive, faster read and write times = upgrade!

WD Scorpio Black or Hitachi Travelstar? Also, what is the increased heat factor with installing a 7200 rpm drive? Is there additional heat?

I would get a 7200 WD Scorpio Black. Much more reliable that Hitachi or Seagate. And fast to boot.
