Been using the powerbook happily for a couple of weeks after buying it from a freind. It still has 4 months of apples warranty left.
I turned it on yesterday when i came back from work, and saw a massive great pin line down the screen! - I was suprised, as this laptop has never been carried around, and has always been used as a desktop! It is in A1 condition, not even a scratch.
I phoned apple, and they are sending out a box for me to send it back in. Will the warranty cover this, as this is not accidental damage!
here is a link which shows a jpeg of the problem.

Do you think apple will fix the issue free of charge??
Please help

i don't have applecare - just the warranty. Will they do it? After all it is a 'defective part' as stated in their warranty details.

AppleCare is just an extension of the period of the warranty. If you are still under warranty that means you are covered
