Mac Specs: Macbook Pro, 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 415GB HDD, 50GB Windows XP, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M
Did you try going into the Preferences menu from the apps that use the camera and selecting the built-in iSight from the drop down menu?

If u are on 10.5.7 and have installed iGlasses then Photobooth may not work. I have just had to un install iGlasses off my MBP and Photobooth now works - i have contacted developer re my issue - will post back here when i have an answer. May not be your answer but check for conflicts with other software.
