Hi guys, i am completely new to the mac scene, my friend posted me her macbook to fix it is the model a1181, when it boots up there is a flashing folder icon on the screen with a question mark, i figured it was the hard drive and switched out the original 80gb with a 320gb that was no problem however i cant seem to get the Operating System to install, she owns tiger that came with the notebook and she purchased the leopard upgrade but she didn't post them to me, i didn't see the harm in downloading a copy considering she owns the operating systems, the problem i have is that every version i have downloaded and tried tiger and leopard just gets spit out and when i hold the alt key at boot it just shows me a mouse pointer and nothing else, any help with this would be fantastic guys.

That's a very grey area there, but the problem will lie in the fact that you need a bootable disc, and those images you download can't be made bootable.
You need a retail copy of either OS, or the original discs.

No matter what your friend owns, it's against US Law to download a pirated copy of OSX. Because it's against US Law, it's also against the rules here on Mac Forums. Get her Tiger DVD and Leopard Upgrade DVD and install it with those.

Discussion of pirated OSX images is not allowed here.
