Hello,

I'm new to the forums and I was wondering if I could get any assistance? My problem is that, I have a 2.4 Macbook Pro (late 2007) 3,1. and for some reason, my screen will constantly flicker. Not a little here and there, but a long burst, pinwheel and all. I have to power off then power back on. I'm using serato scratch live (a DJ program) when the flickering happens. It doesn't happen when I'm doing anything else. I.e surfing, chatting, typing, etc. I have a youtube link showing exactly what happened. Now, I had my logic board replaced less then 2 weeks ago, and just recently the LCD unit (inverter and all the other parts in the top clam shell). I also resetted my SMC. I don't know what to do. Take it back to apple? What more can they do?

Thanks in advance. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

How much memory have you got installed ? Maybe you have a RAM problem and the DJ programme is using a lot of memory and kicking in the fault ? I have recently had a memory incompatibility issue with 2 x 2Gb of Corsair memory and it appears when the 2nd chip kicks in , it locks up the Mac and causes horizontal coloured bands on the screen. If you can remove one slab of RAM and try it or swap to some known good memory !! Good luck

Thanks for the info, I haven't upgraded the memory. It's still the original 2 X 1GB memory sticks. I'll upgrade to the 2 X 2GB and see what happens.

Take it back to Apple. It could be a memory problem but I doubt it. It looks more like a graphics error to me - happening as the graphics chipset is taxed when running your DJ program. It may be related to the change out of the Logic Board. Anyway, let Apple look at it. The work they did is fully warranted.

Regards.

I'm having the exact same problem... I hope it is just a ram problem, even though I did a ram check and it says the ram is ok it can still be a ram issue right?
