There was never such a thing. This is the first time there has been a card slot.

He means the Express Card Slot and yes, it's missing on the 15" MBP and replaced by a SD Card Reader slot.

The 17" I believe still has the Express slot.

According to the keynote the ExpressCard was used by "less than a single digit percentage" of users. Clearly with the widespread use of the SD style memory card the change was a very smart one for Apple.

I did mean the express 34 slot which i use for firewire 400, extra wide usb 2.0 plugs which don't fit otherwise when using two at the same time, high speed sata connections, bootable and unbootable, which are far superior in data transfer from drive to drive than usb or firewire etc. hd tv cards and a bunch of other things that make the Macbook pro much more capable, as far as adding a memory slot, you can do that with a simple card reader for usb or express 34.Imho I believe this was a cheapening of a good product and was a mistake

You seriously have all of those ExpressCard accessories and use them all on a regular basis? At best it must be a serious pain to have to switch them out all the time.

It sucks in you are in the less than 1% minority that actually used the slot, but at least you can use the current 15" MBPs which will be very capable systems for years, or upgrade to the 17" MBP, which is retaining the ExpressCard slot.
