Hi Community,

Lately my magnetic connector of the power cable doesn't work how it should. I have to press the end of the cable to the computer and it gets worse every day. If I just attach it, the cable leaves a small gap between the white cube with the light and the macbook. If I press it against the computer the gap closes and I have power again... Now I have taped it to the macbook with some scotch so I can write this article... Do you have any ideas how I could fix this? I searched the terms "cable" "magnet" and so on but there was nothing really helpful...

Thanks very much for your answers,

Bersling

I would keep a close eye on that - there have been cases of fire from the magnetic connector area. see here MacBook Pro - Unibody MacBook Pro Fire! - Mac-Forums.com

This seems to be a very extraordinary problem :-) But it's nothing like this (at least for now), I just wondered if anyone ever had this problem and what was the solution to it... Probably I should go to an apple store cause its a mechanical problam and there can't be a real solution than changing the hardware. Or do you have another idea?

I went to the supportcenter today, and they replaced the power cable and also gave me a new accu, cause mine was really bad :-) So if anyone has this problem: Go to the support center ;-)
