Okay guys this is my first post so sorry if this is a stupid question. I picked up the 13inch unibody Macbook 4 months ago. It's the $1,299 model, so when Apple announced the new Macbooks yesterday I was a little mad. I would have waited if I knew they were going to do this. The one I have just came out last October.

So my question to you guys is: Is it worth it to upgrade? You know sell the one I have a buy the new one. I don't need firewire or the SD port.

No, and there will likely be an update to this one in another 6-10 months. So, even if you did get this one, you'll be mad again when the next one comes out.

This is, at this time, a never ending cycle and will continue to be until such time as tech has gone as far as it can and there is nothing new under the sun.

Which will most likely be never.

The question I pose to everyone who asks a similar question is this: is there something in the new notebooks that you need that your current one doesn't have/can't do? If the answer is no, which you seem to have hinted at, then why bother?

Thanks for the answer.

My current Macbook more then meets my needs, so yeah I guess I don't need to upgrade. This is just my first Macbook and I figured it was the perfect time to buy one, because they just put out the new unibody ones.

Well next time I'll just wait.

Yeah your right, I should just get used to it. I also just picked up a 3G last year too. But I expected a new Iphone, I don't think Apple expects everyone to upgrade. I guess they are just doing it to win over new consumers.

If your Macbook is only 4 months old and works fine for you then why do you want to upgrade? Like bob said a new update should be around 6-10 months.
