Hi Everyone...
I hope someone can help...
I recently attached my MacBook Pro 17" to a Dell 300WFP monitor. The monitor used to be attached to a Windows XP machine previously.
Ever since i've attached the MacBook to the monitor i've started to get physical headaches watching it. I even get nauseous. This never used to happen with the Windows machine. Its really odd. I don't get it with any other monitors. Just this combination seems to causing me pain. I've looked at other sources and a number of people seem to think that the refresh rate may be the cause of this.
Question is... how do i change the refresh rate. I can't find anything on that...
Second question is more general... do you know anyone else who has come across this problem and how did they fix it.

Thanks in advance to all assistance and suggestions...

You may be able to reset the refresh rate higher for the Dell. However, for its native resolution of 2560 x 1600 the correct refresh is probably 60 Hz. Have you tried resetting the resolution? (you may not be able to without distortion)

You might want to take a look at "SwitchResX" which is a shareware program for obtaining custom resolutions and refresh rates. Link

A word of caution using SwitchResX: You can damage a monitor by setting too high a refresh rate or resolution. Your Dell probably has built in protection against that, but be careful all the same.

Regards.
