One can connect a PSP to a mac with no problems at all.
MacBook Pro 2.66Ghz i7. Mac Mini 2.26Ghz C2D

Yes you can, I do it all the time. I make Mp4 movies and put songs on my 8GB Pro Duo Memory stick.
