As title, I've been wanting /needing to replace my old G4 powerbook for a while now, but I really don't like the look of the newest macbooks. I don't like the black keys, nor the shiny screen.
So I'm going to wait until my powerbook eventually dies before I replace it (must be religious about backing every week!). If it does before a newer version comes out, i'll possibly get the white macbook. Normally I love everything Apple and I'm deffo a sucka for pretty things! So I'm a bit disappointed in the 'look' of the new macbook. Am I alone in my thinking, am I weird? |

I was concerned with the shiny screen at first too, but the display is actually very good with LED backlight and it's very bright, it's just a matter of time before you get used to it, but again, this has always been a topic for disputes, so in the end it's just down to what you feel comfortable with and you shouldn't take other peoples opinions as right/wrong
I'm not saying that you should by any means go for shiny or matte, just that I did get used to the reflections here and there every so often |

I didn't really like the whole design when I first saw it. But when I actually got a chance to play with one, and see how sturdy the design is, and that in fact it is a very SLEEK notebook, i fell in love. The glass screen is amazing, and the LED backlighting makes anything you put up POP.
It's been a week since I've had my new MB - I had downgraded from a 15" MBP 2.4GHZ....The DDR 3 and Nvidia chip screams through anything I throw at it. |

I'm with you on the 'not partial' to the black keyboard.
I really like the look of the matching aluminum keyboard on my MBP. There are a whole bunch of us that don't like glossy displays. Although I must say, one of the 3 machines I use daily at work just had a glossy 22" monitor replacement and I'm impressed every time I go over to it. Luckily for me, the lighting/glare is a non-issue in it's permanent location. I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth. In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus. Place your vote for our Member of the Month |

Uuuuugh! I hated the MacBooks with matching aluminum keys. They looked so... PCish. The black keys serve as a nice contrasting look to the aluminum body. The matching ones just seem to blend too much into the surface... a little harder to make them out.

I'm not a huge fan of the new look. It's a little sterile for my tastes, although I appreciate that they're exceptionally well designed.
I still love my 2006 BlackBook and probably won't be getting a replacement for at least another 2 years. By then, there should be new designs. If I was going to get a replacement tomorrow, I'd probably get an Air. |
