Last night, my MBP was fine, but today I can't seem to adjust the screen brightness via the hotkey; I can still adjust it in Systems Preferences though. When I press the key, it gives me the "no" symbol. I googled this issue, but couldn't turn anything up. Thoughts?

New development: my volume keys and everything else WERE working fine, but now, none of them work except F12...which is bringing up my dashboard. What the heck?

Okay, after 4 or 5 reboots, it seems to have resolved itself. Weird.

You can adjust this by either checking or unchecking the box here:

System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard -> "Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features"

I actually had that unchecked, and F12 was still bringing me my dashboard and not sound. I was all over Systems Preferences, trying to see if it was a change I made, but everything was the same. It was definitely weird.
