Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums and am looking to make the switch from my lovely (but also heavy and increasingly slow) Dell notebook to a MacBook in the next few weeks. I'll probably be poking my head in from time to time with various questions, but for now, it's a simple one. What brand of hard drive does Apple use in the MacBook? I eventually want to upgrade the 160G drive that comes standard on the 2.0, and while I don't think I necessarily need to stick with the same brand, I'm curious what they use as a starting point for my own research.

Cheers!

In the say past 2-3 years I have seen Seagate, WD and Fujitsu in Macbooks but mostly Seagate and Fujitsu.

I personally like WD Scorpio laptop drives of everything out there today. Any 2.5" Laptop SATA drive will work.

Well, I have a Toshiba. Oh wait, that's the HDD I upgraded internally.

The original disk that came with it (and is now in an external USB enclosure) is a, well Toshiba.
