I am trying to make video calls using my Macbook. I can call people using both iChat and Skype and they are able to see me through my built in iSight camera, but their images from their camera is not being displayed on my screen.
I have called several people - on PCs and Macs, using both Skype and iChat. In each case I have the same problem: they can see me, but I can't see them. I am using an intel macbook OSX 10.4 and a Virgin internet broadband cable connection. It seems like it should be a simple problem to solve, but I haven't been able to work it out. Any help appreciated. Thanks. |

I think I have managed to resolve this problem, or to be accurate two problems (which added to the confusion).
In skype the setting 'Automatically receive video from....' in preferences, under the video section, was set to... 'Anyone who I allow to call me.' I changed this to,.... People in my Contact List. Hey presto problem solved. And, I haven't tested it yet but I believe running Skype while trying to us iChat was blocking the device. |
