New Macbook 2.4 - Illuminated Keyboard?I can't get my keyboard to light up - lights off, covering sensors, etc - no matter what I try. I also noticed that the F5 and F6 keys DO NOT have anything on them as they show in the manual or on the website. Can anyone help me out on this?
Thanks - JM!!

Have you tried turning off the lights in the room to see if the keyboard lights up?

Without sounding too patronising, and I certainly dont mean to, but you do have the 15" MBP do you. As isnt it the "Pro" that has the illuminated keyboard?

I think that the top of the range MacBook has an illuminated keyboard as well.

You sure you have a 2.4Ghz? Not trying to be a smarty-pants here, but it is possible that somebody screwed up at the store and gave you a 2.0 instead. Double-check the model number just in case. If it's the right one it should still be under warranty, so the store can fix it for you.

Check for the light switches on F5 and F6...
The light automatically switches on when in a dark room.

If it's metal, then it should have the illuminated keyboard. If it's plastic, then it doesn't.

Unless it's a 2.0Ghz model.

Ahh, looks like you are correct. I had assumed it was a feature for any aluminum Macbook.
In that case, I too would like to know whether the OP knows for sure that he/she has a 2.4GHz model. To check, click on the Apple at the upper left and select About this Mac. The window that pops up will give you the speed.
