I have been having an issue with my Macbook pro (not late 08 model).

I purchased it in august before the school year started.

Lately, when i turn on my MBP, faint black lines go vertically up from the bottom of the screen, looks like uneven backlighting. They go about 1-2 inches up and look like cones of uneven backlighting

But when i close the lid and open it again, its fine. It only happens when i turn it after it has been off for a while.

It looks like my laptop has uneven backlighting, even thou it fixes itself after i close the lid and open it again.

Should i worry about it and call Apple?

If its still under warranty, YES phone apple! They are really good at helping you fix things. If not! Do a bit of Google searching.
