Hi all,
i found a Western Digital - My Passport Essential 500GB External USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive at bestbuy for under $150

can anybody tell me if this is compatible with a MacBook mine is model A1181
if that helps.

what I am wanting to do is open the WD portable HDD enclosure and swap the HDD with the one in my MacBook. Has anyone done this? ans is this posible?

Why not just buy this - Western Digital 500GB - Newegg.com

Cheaper too! - Yes this should work in your Macbook.

Lol, I was going to get a terabyte installed in mine, but it was too big (the largest they could physically go was a 500gb), so I got an external one. The wireless ones are supposed to be as slow as mess, as they use a wireless signal to transfer info, instead of a wireless internet network. At least, that is what I have heard.
