Which model of MacBook? There's no backlight button, but there are settings in System Preferences. Only the 2.4GHZ model has a backlight keyboard.

Notebook: aluminum MacBook (2.4 GHZ Core 2 Duo, 3 GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 32GB partition for Vista Home Premium, Ubuntu Linux 8.10 running in VMWare Fusion 2)
iPod: 16GB iPod Touch (2nd generation), 8GB iPod Nano (3rd generation)

I guess I was fooled when in the description it says *This new MacBook* .

One more question, does the MacBook still continue to download stuff even if I close the lap top lid, don't know how to word it.

Yes, they should have not called that the new macbooks! The Black and White plastic cased Macbook does not have an illuminated Keyboard. Just the Macbook Pros. The New Top model Macbook with the Aluminum case does though.

No, Closing the lid puts the machine to sleep. There are utilities to keep it awake with the lid closed. You can search here on Mac Forums and find.

Alright, thanks for the info. And yeh, MacMall is full of scammers, nobody buy from them *read the reviews*. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have a defective MacBook, kicked in box, and denied rebate.
