MacBook Pro - SuperDrive has +/- Preference?

I have a 2.4GHz Santa Rosa MacBook Pro. Recently on two separate occassions, I have tried to byrn a disc using a DVD+R Dual-Layer Disc. Both times, the burn has failed.

I checked System Profiler and it says my SuperDrive should be able to handle + and - type discs. Including for Dual Layer.

Is my SuperDrive just not working? or does it have a preference to -R discs?

The funny thing is that it can burn DVD+R and DVD-R single-layer discs without issues.

I've found dual layer burners are quite picky... perhaps try a different brand of media first?
