We won't see nehalam on notebooks till Q3 '09 at the earliest from what I have seen. And that goes the same with Snow Leopard, H2 "09 as the others above me have suggested.

A January '09 update would be highly unlikely unless there was a serious issue with early manufacturing processes for the new MB/MBP such as thermal grease as and weak components.

As a former pc user, I upgraded to a macbook 2.0 a week ago. Night and day, simple as that. Best decision I made.

I don't think you will be disappointed even if you make the switch now, but if you plan to wait it is most likely spring 2009 for snow leopard.

Nahalem for notebooks is Q2 2009 and we probably won't see them in macbooks until late 2009.

SO SAD!!! =( I just figured if and when I make the move, I want the most recent hardware in it, especially when I know it's coming and when. It's not like I have no idea it's coming, ya know? Snow leopard isn't a really a necessary I guess cuz I can easily upgrade it. Meh, anyways............ I want one

Technology gets updated every six months - You will always be waiting if you keep waiting until the next new thing comes out.
