Hi, I just bought a new MacBook with 2 gig ram, I have ordered 2 more gigs, meantime could i put 4gigs I have from my old Macbook PRO 15" last model? or does the new macbook need different ram?

Many Thanks.

No older MBP RAM runs at 667Mhz and the newer at 1066MHz. They are different I don't think the new MBP would run it but it might. Even then it would be so slow there would be no reason to.

I think ddr2 wont fit in a ddr3 slot... they have the same amount of teeth but the gap to insert it is different, plus ddr3 is faster so it wouldn't.

I am not sure about the shape as I have never seen DDR3 but yeah putting DDR2 in a DDR3 would be pointless even if it would fit.

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong, but you cannot simply order an additional 2gb of memory to end up with 4gb of RAM total. The MacBooks (and MacBook Pros) only have 2 RAM slots, meaning you need to buy 2 x 2gb SO-DIMM's to replace your current 2 x 1gb SO-DIMM's. This goes for the old and new MB and MBP's. If you only ordered 2gb or RAM, there is no way to end up with 4gb in your MacBook.
