I've just ruined my dvd drive! Got a disk stuck that wasn't recognised as being there at all so I got it out with tweezers, bad move! now it makes a horrible grinding noise if I put a disk in. Soooo I've bought myself an external firewire writer (Lacie portable with lightscribe - chocolate brown!) which seems v good so far. The question is twofold, can/should I cover the dvd drive slot on my macbook pro with tape to prevent dust getting in or is there an air flow issue if I do that? and, when/if I get round to replacing the internal drive what are my options - in the UK? cant find any sensible replacements ie apple drive for nearly £200!!
QUOTE Thanks
