So my HD's bitten the bullet and its time to get a new one.

I have a 13" Intel Macbook.

I'm in the market for a new HD, biggest and fastest is the what i'm after.

Can i get any kind of 2.5 HD? Whats the biggest i can get that will fit?

Also thinking of getting Leopard, currently running 10.4 but not sure if its worth the extra money to upgrade as i'll probably upgrade machines in a years time.

Thanks.

Edit - Do a lot of graphic intensive work therefore would prefer higher rpm.

Well the fastest things out now are the Samsung SSD but they cost an arm and leg you probably could buy another macbook for that price.

The next best thing is the Samsung 500GB 2.5 HDD but the seek speed and the write speed is something less to be desired.

I would go with the 320 GB 7200 by WD or Seagate.

I went with the Seagate HDD because it has a longer Warranty on it. 5 compared to the 3 that WD has on it's HDD.

They are the same price on newegg the last time I checked. Apparently WD was sold out and before that Seagate was sold out and I had to end up buying it from OWC for 60 dollars more. >_<"

I recently upgraded to a WD 250GB 7200RPM drive for my Macbook. It's been working great since.

As Crimson pointed out, the largest 7200RPM drive is 320GB. If you want sheer space then there is a Samsung 500GB 5400RPM drive available.

You need the SATA or else it won't work.
