when I first turned on my ibook I gave the computer a name and now I would like to change it but it seems that I cannot do it...
can I?how?

when you say gave the computer a name, do you mean you named the hd? or do you mean the admin user/home folders name? they can both be changed, lemme know which it is and Ill explain it.

I suppose he means the name that is displayed above the users in the startup window.

Mine currently shows apt right at the top with the 2 selectable users below that...

You can change the "Computer Name" in the Sharing pane of the System Preferences. Hope this helps
