over 3? With each passing day I run more and more intensive applications. VMWare and Slingbox are the main culprits. My machine runs pretty good for what I throw at it but I'd love more power.

So I guess the question is: Should I get a macbook that can hold 4gigs (mine can't; last gen) or wait for new? Any idea if the new macbooks will have more RAM capacity?

Thanks.

Take a look at the Activity Monitor during peek usage to see if you are using all of your RAM. If not, then there's no need to upgrade.

As for whether the next version will support more than 4GB of RAM, I would say don't count on it.

I don't see notebooks lasting on battery power for very long if they had like 8GB of RAM <_<"?

I never even use all of my RAM and I have like 3-5 applications open at one time. Mainly the Adobe CS3 suite, and firefox with 10-20 tabs open.

I will be going 4GB pretty soon as I know that I will need it for gaming in the future so I may as well have it now. I will just transfer it to my new MBP next year and it will still be cheaper than apple's prices.
