I was thinking of purchasing a portable External HD. This was the one I was going to purchase:

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/123736

It has a USB 2 connection and a Firewire 400. However the specs says the firewire is 6-pin…Would that be compatible with my Macbook?

has anyone got this drive? is it any good?

Macbook? Firewire 400. Macbook Pro has Firewire 800 which is backward compatible with FW400. So that drive should work just fine. I have both a Firewire (400) and USB external hooked to my Macbook and they're great.
