I just put in 1 GB of memory into my Powerbook G4 867Mhz, which can only support 512mb of memory. The system recognized the 1GB. Does it mean its using the 1 GB, or it only recognized the 1 GB. WHen I go to Activity Monitor it says I have 850MB free. I am new to Mac world so thank you for your help.

G'day and welcome to the forums young prince!
Specs for your machine from Everymac advise the 1GB is correct and yes it is utilising the full 1GB. Here are the specs:- http://www.everymac.com/systems/appl...ok_g4_867.html |
