Upgrading When Necessary
I have a G4 PowerBook, 512 RAM, 80 Gig HD, 1.33 Ghz processor etc...
I'm not too worried about hard drive space, but how do I determine how much memory I can upgrade too?
click the Apple in the top left corner, go to About This Mac, click more info, in system profiler, click memory, it should tell you how many slots you have and what if anything is in each. though I think, depending on when you bought your pbook, it can only upgrade to 1.25gb of ram. if you just wanna upgrade and add another 256 or something, thats cool,
depends on what you plan to do with your mac.
I think the standard for memory capacity is 1.25 on the 12" and 2GB on the 15" and 17" (given that you have a 1.33GHz machine you must have bought after a certain date). I have a 1.25GHz 15" and those are my limits.
Speaking of upgrading. Does anyone know the difference between a:
Is it the same chip with a different name and half the price?
