MacBook - how many chips does macbook come with?

does the 2gb that the macbook comes with come in two 1gb chips, or one 2gb chip?

It always comes with two RAM chips
This seems to be better for the macbook, it's just annoying if you want to upgrade because have to remove one chip

eBay is probably the best bet... I saved my 2 512MBs for possible future use, in case one of my current 2GB chips goes belly up, or such...
