Hello all. I am new to these boards. I have my brand new (3 wk old) Macbook and I love it. I did not even bother to put Windows for Mac on it. I am ALL Mac.

I assumed, that when I ordered the 2GB RAM laptop that I would just open up the cover throw in 2 more gigs and I would be GTG. Surprise surprise!!! I was at the Apple store here in NJ and made inquiry regarding doing just that, when the rep told me that I would have to buy 4 gigs to get to the configuration that I wanted.

Where can I get the 4 GBs that I need that are of good quality and reasonably priced? I can do the install myself, I have done it on my PC and work laptop already.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

I vote Crucial.

This is what you need:

Check the Macbook model there though, I took a guess at your clock speed and Macbook model.

Many thanks to Zoolook, Bman, and sanity1082. I was at BestBuy today and they are having a sale on Kingston 2GB for 109.00. Still does not beat 103.00 for 4GB from Crucial.

You could save some more money if you bought a set from Newegg

Another vote for Crucial, my GSkill memory went bad and Crucial has been supporting me ever since.

I am with Crucial on this one. I will be upgrading to 2GB. I like Newegg.com, but these 2 1GB sticks are cheaper than in Newegg.
