Buying a MacBook Pro

Hello Mac Forums community! I recently graduated high school and plan on getting a MacBook Pro for college. Since I'm going to a local community college, can I just print out my future class schedule for the fall semester and substitute that instead of a letter of acceptance? There is an online Apple store for my college so I think I'm good on the college part.

I think you'll be fine with that. From what I've read, Apple isn't too stringent on the requirements for proof of student status.

Oh good. Thanks.

Yea, just tell them you are a student, they will trust you.

Why? If there's a defect with the cards, Apple would be compelled to repair or replace the machines. As it stands, this is still unsubstantiated.

Theres nothing wrong with the cards. And to get your discount you do absolutely nothing. Just select online that its for the education store then select your college in the list, no proof needed for me.

With all due respect, a few posts in a forum doesn't indicate a global issue with every chip in a model line. It's very possible those problems could be caused by faulty cooling, environment, a bad run of chips, or countless other minutia - any of which could be specific to a particular model, or even a specific revision of that chip.

I'm buying it retail, but I'll pack my fall class schedule just in case.

Clockwork,

I recently graduated high school and purchased a MBP at the local Apple store several days ago. To get the discount, the associate just needed any proof, so I pulled up my email and showed him my housing information.

Worked for him,
Matt
