I would like to upgrade the RAM on my MBP 2.33 15 inch (currently 2g) and noticed that its max memory is 3G. Do I just ad a 2G to one of the slots or should I match the slots with RAM (2x2g) even though I'll only use 3g?

Put 2 X 2 Gb matched modules in the MBP. It'll actually use 3.3 Gb.

See here: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/

I'm for the 1gb + 2gb just because i think it's a waste of .7gb of ram if it's just sitting there, it won't get used at all, and i think the price difference isn't worth the extra .3gb.

i'm getting this one from newegg, with free shipping.

they say that doing matched modules is good, but only for the dual channeling.
