highpitch noise on webcam
i have a macbook, &everytime i use the webcamon my aim, a high pitch noise is heard.
my friends macbook does it too.

when i mute myself, it goes away.
same for when he mutes himself.

is there any way to fix this???

i have a macbook & when i get on aim and use video chat, it makes a high pitch noise.

my friends does it too.

its just a macbook, not a pro.

any help on how to stop this??

when you mute yourself/your friend mutes themselves are you referring to muting the microphone? also, does your macbook make a similar noise any other time? im thinking it could be some sort of echo but im not sure where it could be coming from..... does it do it on any other program? ichat, photobooth etc.

no, just in iChat where i use my aim.
and yes, im referring to muting the microphone.

i thought it was an echo, because we live in the same household, but were get on at two sepreate ends of the house.
i also thought maybe it was my iphone.

its probably something simple like an echo lol

Sounds like feedback, try listening through a set of headphones.

I usually use speakers or headphones when video chatting on my macbook pro.

The microphones are where the speakers are. Not very smart...
