Macbook pro (15") is en route to me and should be here soon. Long time windows user switching over to mac. Something I'm actually looking forward to.

Two questions, I'll start with the printer,

Does anyone know if they make a cable to connect me to my printer through firewire? I can find the USB 2.0 to printer cables, but have yet to see a Firewire to printer. Do they even make these? Really don't want to have to waste one of the USB ports on a printer.

As for the stand, I am looking for a stand that will keep my laptop elevated off of the desk, but still allow my to use the laptop keyboard. Both keeping the laptop cooler, and putting the keyboard in a more comfortable tilted position. I have looked and found mostly just docking stations that are meant to be used with a mouse and keyboard.

You'd need to use a printer that supports firewire. I do not know of any. Why not print wirelessly?

I was considering that, but being used to using PC's and Windows, is it safe? I just feel like putting up the wireless would give anyone use to it. I'm clearly missing something.

Use Apple AirPort Express/Base Station/Time Machine for Wireless USB Printing. It is safe and password protected.

As for stand, consider Griffin elevator http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/elevator or iLap http://www.raindesigninc.com/ilap.html
