Okay so i was working on my MBP today running 2 programs Safari, and Photoshop, I went to turn my volume up using the F keys and i touched the little thin strip of metal just to the top of them and burned my fingers off, it was seriously so hot, and then by the left speaker was really hot to. Download a program called "SMCfan control". It allows you to increase your fan speeds. On my MacBook my fans are always at 2500 rpm or so.

Keeps the temp down. i find as soon as it gets up there, it is very hard to cool. I run both my iMac and MacBook with this program.

I would try to stay away from manual fan control. Apple has the internal settings down pretty good. It could be a problem with a fan or something which may be worth getting figured out, but heat problems have been reported with the MBPs. That little strip gets extremely hot while using a few adobe programs at once...just be careful a bit.

In the meantime while you are waiting for your fingers to heal you might want to read thru this thread:

1st... STOP - DROP - and ROLL!!!!!!!

2nd... Seek immediate mediacal attention.

3rd... You may want to consider counseling as the loss of limbs (fingers included) can be quite traumatic.

When you take the Mac to the apple store and tell that its getting extremely hot, they gonna ask you first if you are hurt. I wonder what they will do if you say yes.

I would think they would try to be nice and offer a replacement mac straight away or maybe offer some apple accessories you can use.

They asked me this question when i took my MBA but I didnt get burnt so i said NO.

My MBP always runs hot when playing WoW, but that is to be expected. However, I will agree, it gets REALLY hot to the touch at times. But, I've had no problems with my MBP so far (over a year).

Lucky no real damage to my skin occurred, but it was just surprise to be so hot. im sure if my one year old touched it, it would be a whole other problem.

Do you think if i got some more RAM it might let the processor not work so hard?

I'd go to your nearest Apple store. My friend works there as a Genius and said that as soon as you mention sometihng about it burning that they have to take it and replace it for you if you have Applecare. So i'd do that.
