Mac Book Air:

Doesn't fit anything resembling a real headphone jack.

I have found several headphone that work including IPod. The problem is that all the plugs look like they are not fully inserted when in fact they are. Just have to get used to it I guess.

Apparently it can be a problem because there's something about it on the apple support site. Some third party jacks might not fit, so you would need an extension thingy for them.

The extension is only required if the connector is to large to fit inside the opening on the flip down door. But all plugs do not fully seat into the jack. There is another thread that talked about this.

Well, that would have been my comment about "real" headphones.....

The cord is really short too.

I'll try again with the "jack may not be fully seated" theory.
