I'm a new mac user, sofar I love what I see. I have a 12" G4 with 256mb ram. I know ram makes a big difference but untill I can afford more, are there any little tips/tricks to make my powerbook run a little faster? My powerbook seems to bog down quite badly sometimes.

256 is a bit of a killer.

Make sure that you keep a big gap under your PowerBook when it's on a table. This will keep the processor cool and keep a decent speed.

Also, regularly clear caches and whatnot.

Download Xupport (http://www.computer-support.ch/Xupport/), and routinely run all the maintenance scripts.

Also be sure to reset safari once in a while (Safari menu -> Reset Safari).

This should help.
