MacBook Pro - Backlight isn't turning on...

When I first got my MBP, the keyboard would illuminate in low light conditions. However, now it isn't happening. I have got into my system preferences and it is set to turn on. I have also made sure that the keyboard isn't dimmed from using the F10 key.

Anything I'm missing?

try pressing F6 to raise brightness.
