Anyone ever been able to record sound at single channel (i.e. mono), 16000hz? Or, as I realize it's not readily available on a macbook 2.33ghz OSX.4 with the current mic (due to, I'm guessing, hardware ie card+mic config), know a soundcard I can easily plug in to this thing easily to get this done? I need to get this working to work with a very particular C++ audio library for a very particular purpose that I really don't want to work with any other audio format (if anyone is curious I can provide details). I've been trying to use rtAudio and it's not worked the whole time, I will say that I've worked it fine with 44100 single channel but whenever I try to do 16000 16bit audio I get a "hardware configuration unsupported" message. This leads me to believe that this mic/audio card config just doesn't support this. If anyone's got some secrets please let me know. Thanks,

josh
