iBook - Disable iBook G4 Keyboard?

Apologies if this is a duplicate thread, I didn't find anything about this through Search.

I've got bad spillage problems with my internal keyboard on my iBook G4. For a while I was just missing a couple keys. It wasn't really an issue because I usually use an external keyboard anyway. Now it's a whole lot worse. It seems I have shorted some keys in such a way that they're always pressed. For example, when I boot up, the computer thinks I'm holding the option key and goes to the boot volume select screen.

So, unless I can completely disable my keyboard, I may have some real funky functionality issues. Thoughts?

you can unplug the keyboard? just remove the ram shield and carefully remove the plug
